Destinations > Cap Ferret holiday rentals
Sophisticated yet authentic and utterly charming, the Cap's great advantage is that it offers both surfing beaches on the Atlantic side and calm, sheltered beaches on the Bay side. Add in the superb accommodation, restaurants and broquantes, the Cap is ideal for families and couples.

A delightful quiet place (we went September) but very friendly locals and not touristy at all. Plenty of things to do nearby from endless beaches to woodland walks to wine tasting.

Very special place, will definitely return

Loved it - laid back, good activities available, great choice of beaches- one side has Atlantic waves, the other peaceful lagoon style. Good choice of places to eat, we liked Le Central, went twice. Cap Ferret was easy to get to, we went by plane, train and boat, didn't bother with a car but hired bikes for the week, cycling to different beaches. It wasn't a cheap holiday but worth it for teenagers may not be holidaying with us much longer, but loved it, we could have stayed another week.
Product:
Beaches superb. Cycle trails are great. Not quite as keen on the villages as very centred around the oyster farming and the little bars overlooking the water would only let you have a drink if also eating oysters. In our opinion, the villages in Ile De Re are more attractive.
Product:
Good: 9 oyster villages of which 3 were within walking distance; excellent cycle routes, beautiful Atlantic beaches, peaceful with great climate in June.
Product:
THE AREA IS SO CYCLE FRIENDLY AND THE LOCAL MARKET JUST DOWN THE ROAD MEANT WE DIDNT NEED TO USE THE CARS VERY OFTEN .
Product:
We particularly like the almost car-free ambiance with almost everyone on bikes.
Product:
We loved the location and would like to return in season

Relaxed laid back feel to resort. Beautiful beaches, diverse options - some great for surfing and others around bay good for younger children swimming. Town, authentically French, did not feel 'touristy.' Limited choice of restaurants which was a little disappointing but food good.

lovely location

The first week of September is an excellent time to visit. Not too crowded but busy enough for shops/cafes/etc to be open. We found the ambience very relaxing, enjoyed some lovely walks along the beaches. The market was excellent for fresh produce and, for the first time ever on a self-catering holiday, we ate in each evening. Stall holders, shop owners, cafe staff were all extremely friendly. Views across the ocean and the Bassin were quite spectacular but we were blessed with stunning weather.
Product:
Cap ferret is a fantastic laid back, chic resort with some excellent restaurants. Plenty to do in a very relaxed atmosphere.
Product:
Beautiful destination, stunning area, a pleasure to drive round, the food market was great and on the doorstep so fresh produce daily.
Product:
wonderful, perfect summer destination.
Product:
really loved cap ferret. fantastic beaches, great atmosphere, gorgeous restaurants. better than cape cod! will be back!

Andernos is a lovely little town which is half a working oyster town and half traditional French seaside. Great proximity to the Cap Ferret villages and ocean beaches which are beautiful.
Product:
Cap Ferret was more built up than we expected, quite suburban. Surprisingly, the sea is not a big feature of the village because there is no seafront or promenade to walk along. The beaches are fabulous; mile after mile of fine, golden sand. The area is best for outdoor pursuits (surfing, walking, cycling); you need to take the ferry across to Arcachon to find places of historical or cultural interest. The seafood restaurants are great, albeit rather expensive!
Product:
Cap Ferret was a revelation - amazing beaches, forest tracks and because we visited at the beginning of the season, quiet.
Product:
Best place on Earth
Product:
May half term was rather early in the Cap Ferret season - so a quiet few days, but place changed once it was the bank holiday for Ascension Thursday.
Product:
A beautiful holiday destination, but sadly we had terrible weather. It rained nearly every day and was quite cold. I think we were very unlucky!
Product:
Fantastic location, bit of a trek to get there but worth it.
